Michigan's Upper Peninsula without a doubt offers some of the most diverse, dramatic photography to be found anywhere in North America. From the historic lighthouses and limitless shorelines of the inland seas known as the Great Lakes we'll capture the explosion of colors as fall paints the beautiful hardwood forests of the U. P. You'll also have ample opportunity to photograph the waterfalls and around the countless smaller lakes in the area.
Our adventure will be centered in the eastern portion of the U. P. around Whitefish Point, famous for its 1860' era lighthouse, Coast Guard station and beautiful sand dunes. We'll also explore nearby Tahquamenon State Park, the largest state park in Michigan and the Upper and Lower Tahquamenon Falls. The safari will include journeys to several other lighthouses in the area. And don't worry there will be plenty of time to adventure off on your own to visit the Maritime Museum at Whitefish Point with its numerous displays and artifacts from ships lost in the area including the largest ship to go down in the Great lakes, the Edmund Fitzgerald.
The safari will begin with a welcome dinner the evening of the 12th after everyone has checked in. The photo safari will include daily trips to several locations to allow for a variety of shooting experiences and instruction in the field, after dinner digital presentations and critiquing of the days images. We'll be out before sun up and in after sun down as the Great Lake give up some of their best work during these times.
This Michigan's Upper Peninsula adventure offers something for every skill level and interest. No photographer should be without a few images of this amazing part of the country.
The cost for this safari is $925/photographer and $450/pp for accompanying non-photographer. The cost includes the safari, lodging and evening meals with the group. For more information contact us using the links provided at the top of the page or below. Hope to see you in Michigan!
